An upgrade !!

I'm so excited !
Last week I got my new (to me) Bernina930 .
Many of you will not get my excitement, but that's okay.  :)
This is her!!!!

I started out on a cheap Singer sewing machine
Sewing mostly baby slings at that time.
Then I got my husband's grandma's Kenmore 10 that she had used for many years .
I liked that old machine and still do.
It's a solid no nonsense machine and was able to sew through 3 layers of terrycloth!!
Lately I felt like she is getting a bit tired of this type of sewing and I'm sure she was not made to sew
pretty much every day for the last 10 years. The tension was acting up too and that makes things
very frustrating for me.

So I put the word out for some ideas on what to get for a new machine and my friend
Barrie highly recommended the Bernina 930.
Guess what? I bought it off Ebay!
That was somewhat scary. n
No it WAS scary!!!!!!
I sold and bought for years on Ebay, but NEVER spend that kind of money ever!!!
Well I won the auction and the machine arrived extremely well packaged and in great working order!
I'm so happy !
Funny , just now do I feel worthy to get a really good sewing machine.....
tztztztz...*shakes head*
Silly me!
Now let's see what this baby can do.....
Have a wonderful day!

  2. Hi, I'm a new reader to your blog (saw one of your items on Pinterest) and I just want to say that I'm excited for you getting a new, quality machine. I know what that means to your work. Anyone who is trying to make money selling sewn items deserves the best quality they can afford. The tools you work with are very important. I have about 10 older mechanical machines (some are treadle machines!) and even some Featherweights. My everyday machine is an electronic Brother, for which I paid not half of what you probably paid for this. My Brother does all sorts of fancy stitches, but it doesn't do a straight stitch as beautiful as my older mechanicals do. And the ability to handle several thicknesses of fabrics is a must in what you do. Enjoy!
